Description

These crispy chicken lollipops are a fun and delicious way to enjoy tender chicken with a perfectly crispy exterior. Great for parties or a special family dinner!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 chicken drumettes (or chicken wings)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Start by preparing the chicken drumettes. Use a sharp knife to cut around the bone at the base of each drumette, pushing the meat down to form a “lollipop” shape.
  • In a shallow bowl, mix together the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and cayenne.
  • Dip each chicken lollipop into the flour mixture, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat in panko breadcrumbs. Press gently to make sure the breadcrumbs stick well.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F (175°C). Carefully place the chicken lollipops in the hot oil and fry for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Make sure the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Remove the chicken lollipops from the oil and drain on paper towels. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra crispiness, double dip the chicken in the flour mixture and egg wash before coating in breadcrumbs. You can also drizzle the lollipops with your favorite sauce, like buffalo or honey mustard.
